Since Easter 2021, over a period of 42 days, we facilitated almost 100 face-to-face workshops to 2,800 children!
It’s great to be back!
All our workshops have been adapted to adhere to COVID-19 restrictions.
We have COVID-19 Risk Assessments available for our workshops and have adapted the content to ensure all social distancing and sanitising requirements are adhered to but also ensuring the participants receive a full experience playing authentic instruments with our expert facilitators!
Meet ‘Jenny’ the djembe (see above photo)! Since summer 2020, this djembe has been sprayed, wiped, washed with a host of sanitisers and cleaning products!
Our aim was to find a cleaning method to be certain the drum was adequately sanitised to meet COVID requirements without damaging the calf head, ensure we were not carrying potentially hazardous products in our vehicles and also be certain the products wouldn’t aggravate the hands of any workshop participants who have sensitive skin. We also wanted to find a way we could quickly sanitise our instruments in-between each workshop session without sacrificing workshop time. After much research, our answer was found from staff at a busy NHS Accident & Emergency hospital who told us they use Clinell which doesn’t contain any bleach and is safe to use for sensitive skin. So now, our facilitators pack their PPE pack of Clinell wipes and sprays, visors, gloves and masks along with our authentic world-music instruments!
We’re now taking bookings for June & July 2021!
